Default Filler tube gasket replace?

Anyone replaced there fuel tank filler gasket? Mine is leaking at the side of the tank. Getting a PO442 code "EVAP emmissions small leak detected". Seems to be one of the more common causes for this code (besides gas cap). How hard is this to replace and did you have to drop the tank?

i had to drop the tank, but all you need is some soappy water to help the seal slide in. becareful who you have help you drop the tank, my friend dropped mine off the jackstand and cost me$450 for a new fuel pump

its not bad, but i would try to syphon the tank empty first. a full tank (minus what leaked out of mine) was pretty heavy, just be careful and not do what weezy did.

It's an easy replacement, as long as you don't have much fuel in the tank. I just replaced mine when I did my fuel system last month. The gasket is stupid expensive though.

hey also check your filler neck while your there. Iv'e had a few mustangs within the last year come in with the filler necks rusted out. It will usually rust out behind the protective covering at the bend on the filler neck.
