oil weight?

Default oil weight?

would it hurt anything running 5w-30 instead of 5w-20 in this heat? i live in texas, so it gets ****ing hot! its fora 03 GT

nope i live in wisconsin and thats what ford just put in mine motorcraft 5w-30... so i would ASSUME that they know what there doing i got a 2000 gt

Ford is **** about 5w-20 in all their newer vehicles... just cuz the dealer uses it, doesnt mean the manufactorer would approve of it. Mobile 1 5w-20 FTW.

you will be fine with 5w 30 thats what I run its just a bit thicker when it heats up.

but is thicker gonna be ok or better, considering that its the dead of summer in 100+ degrees here?

30 weight will hold up better in the heat than 20 weight.

they previous owner was running 5w-20 in my 03 GT but as soon as it was time for an oil change i swapped 5w-30 Mobil 1 full synthetic and couldnt b happier

both are good synthetics u might get a little more out of RP but idk what it cost to do a change with them i know it is $25 for 4qts of mobil 1 by me
