Default dipping into the redline

how far have u guys dipped into redline ... ive been inside the redline just barly .... the red is marked in equally sized squares and ive been past the amount of 1 square ... and my car was neutral ... can any bad weird things happen from that or is it cool ... i figure it alright epecially since i barly went into the redline and i was in neutral ..... i just wired in my digital RPMread/shift light and i got all excited so i kept revving it ... and it went a tad past redline ... no biggie?????i hope

Rev limiter would kick in if you revved too far.

exactly.... its just a warning to you, that the rev limiter is comming and you should back off.

its worse on a motor to redline it in neutral, because there is no load on the motor.

yea, not good to go that high in neutral.. ive been to 7500 rpm before in nuetral though, i was power shiftin when my shifter was loose and weird and i missed a shift. [:@]

Does it hurt a 01 Mustang GT 4.6 2v to get in the Red with a Auto Trans How far should you push your 4.6 and still be safe?

correct me if i'm wrong but i believe that Gt's roller rockers and
everything are made to handle 6500 Max so 6250 would be a
good mark to stop reving, but you'll need a tuner to reach that high

You shouldn't take a stock 2V 4.6 SOHC over 6,000 RPMs.
