Engine oil in the Coolant
Hello, I am new to the site. I have a 96 GT with 130,00 miles. The previous owner dogged the crap out of the carI feel. It seemed to be in good running order whenI got it and have only had it about one month. The low oil light came on today. I added 1 quart of oil and decided to check the other fluid levels thats whenI dicovered the coolant expansion tank full of oil!Something has failed recently whether itis a head gasket, or the heads I dont know, there is no water in thecrankcase and the engine runs fine.I fear the worst, but was curious if anyone else has been through this and what the findings were? If so, should I go ahead and start shopping for a set of PI heads? My budget is'nt ready for this, but if I have to pull the heads I am going to make it worth the trouble! Thanks for your help.

RE: Engine oil in the Coolant
I'm guessing its a head gasket. If it wasn't oil in the coolant it would be coolant in the oil. That was always a badhead gasket or intake manifold gasket sign. Beat me up if I'm wrong.

Great oppurtunity to do a pi swap. www.car-part.com for the cheapest set of heads for a 99-04 pi 2v 4.6 unless someone is practically giving them away locally. g/l. Theres a good chance the seller you bought from used some stop-leak or 'alumi-seal' to hide the blown head gasket for the sale, theres also the chance it was just her time.
