Hey guys I know I know this is a really stupid question I have a 01 GT with a Automatic Trans how do you smoke your tires and do a burn out with a auto I held the brake and pushed the gas? LOL with the Traction control off would not hook up and put smoke out just a little bit of tire marks here and there. Is this hard on my baby? As far as brakes and engine and rear end? I kno it is on the tires but i get new ones in 3 weeks so just wanted to have some fun with these

put some tire shine on the tread of your tires and have fun.

It is hard on the brakes but if you do not do it mutch it is ok. You just wair the pad down quicker
In my 240sx I had, I did so mutch brake stanes the rotors where blue.

You're making us auto guys look stupid buddy. But, have no fear, you can smoke them tires as well as anyone else. I left about 60 feet of rubber by my neighbors house a couple of weeks back @ 6 a.m. Saturday morning on my way home from work. (thast what he gets for mowing his yard at 10p.m. when i was trying to sleep. Its called a brake stand. Stay on the brake, lock up the rear give it some gas and when i breaks loose, hold it until your either hitting reall yhigh rpms, sliding sideways or satisfied with your self mutilation.

also if you want to make a habit of it you can get a front brake lock from mustang tuning, its good for warming up tires at the track too. all you have to do is press the brakes, flip the switch and let off the brakes when your done having fun flip it back. i know they have them for 99-04 but not sure about earlier gens.

Get 4.10 or 4.30 gears...no problems with my auto roasting the tires since I had 4.10's put in!

Back when I was in highschool we used to take a buddies automatic "parents car" lol out to a lonely stretch of road, put it into reverse & get going backwards about 10-15 mph, then stick it in D and FLOOR IT! ROLF

It had an open diff so only one rear wheel spun but BOY did it ever cake out the cloulds of smoke! After a few passes you could see all the tread blocks were angled backwards

We then tried the same reverse trick with his pickup truck that was a stick & had a limited slip diff. It would still roll backwards a little bit further when we floored it in forward, and would leave really cool "66" tracks on the road

that reverse to a drive drop it not good...dont do it on a good car, if u got a **** car, do it, it will be fun, but dont R->D or N->D drop it...not good at all

Couldn't have said it better my self, "Emann." lol You don't even have to use the brakes if you really don't want to either. I have an automatic as well and as we all know, 98 GTs aren't the fastest Mustangs around but you can still gt the job done by coming to a complete stop, drop it in 1, mash the gas and rock and roll. That is the recipe for an instant 30 foot burnout with out killing your brakes. It should be even crazier in an '01 because of the extra ponies.
