Default transmission options???

So heres the deal, beginning of June I missed a shift (powershifting) and pretty blew out the third gear syncros. About a month later 2nd went out. So I have been without my car for about the last month. I know there are a few options. Rebuild the current trans (quoted 1600$) buy something thats built, 6sp swap, or just get the cheapest fix possible, and throw down the money for a cobra, which seem to be within grasp now.

If you have the money for a Cobra i wouldn't even be asking this question lol. But if you end up sticking with your cari would go for the 6 speed.

i would probably go with a T-56, and my second choice would be a TKO 600

Ah, i feel your pain man. i to am without my car due to the transmission. but i put mine in for a diff reason. my warranty was just about to expire, and it was actin up (2nd car owner, 1 year warranty) they're coverin 1600 for the trans, plus there's a couple other things i want fixed before i get my car back... paid 1400 for the warranty, got 1600$ out of em already... mechanic also said differential might need lookin into, and if he takes that apart i might as well have him swap gears while im at it.

You can get a good reman T56 and all of the other things for around $2k. T56 is your best option by far. I will soon be swapping my T45 for the T56. But if you have the money, go 4v. I'm biased though.
