those typhoon intakes are not horrible, although many people say they aren't that good quality. The trickflow is a nice intake although for the price it's not that nice

If you read closely youll see that the peak HP increase on those are at some insanely high rpm. Usually 6200-6500.
+1
I've also read that you sacrifice mid-range power for peak power.

the whole intake... sounds close to what you'll get... though i dont like Professional products ...

i would say more like 20ish hp gain though

i wouldn't waste my money on an intake unless your pushing major boost...

now the plenum and TB... i WOULD get...

BBK TB and C&L intake

the stock long runner lower intake on 99+GTs promote low range torque something we mod motors need.. most aftermarket intakes are short - midlength runners which will give a little more up top... which really isnt nessesary.. well at least IMO...

i'm sure others will chime in
why don't you like PP? they make quality stuff
i just dont... personal opinion

yup... you also sacrfice low end as well.. and unless your motor is built to do so you wont be able to rev high enough to really use all that horsepower you gain...

if i feel like getting a metal intake... i'd get the bullitt one... only if nitrous finds its way on my car

You will loose low and mid range power, which is the only saving grace to the 2v. I have run against stock GT's and one with this exact intake and I can assure you that it will slow your 1/4 time. You will gain overall hp and will raise your top speed. I beat most bolt on GT's but they do give me problems down low because that's where 2v make pretty decent power except the one with this intake which I devoured from start to finish. It does pull a little harder up top, but if you're like most mustang guys, you don't give a crap about top speed. Put your money in other areas. As far as the brand, it's a qualitybrand of products, no problem with the brand, just not a desirable setup for mostpeople.

of corse ford knew the plastic intake was going to crack. thats why they put it in. so now everyone has to dish out hundreds just to get it fixed. belive it or not high rollers like ford pay a lot of money to alot of people to do the thinking.

+1 on replacing plastic intake crossover, before it cracks.

as far as choosing a majority of engine parts (cams, heads, intake manifold), you are going to have to pick your powerband. for high end power you will almost always sacrafice low end torque. that is why you have to determine the use of the vehicle.

and to whiterabbit998. i dont think ford designed the intake to crack, they are smart enough to not to something like that due to warranty repair issues, or possible lawsuits (which were filed and paid out).
