so the stock piece is plastic?and this would be a pi swap onto a npi head i believe. i looked at those instructions and i have to be honest it all looks a bit intimidating. i have never worked on an engine before and if anything were to go wrong i would be completely lost!!! maybe i can try one of the other forums here to see if theres anyone near me that can help me with this

Anyways, it's an easy job, just be sure to use something to hold the intake bolts in a similar pattern as what you removed them from the intake so you dont' mix up the lengths.
Take a piece of cardboard and lable one end as Front and the opposite side as rear, one as passenger (Right)and one as driver (Left). Then as you remove the bolts, use a screw driver to punch a small hole in the cardboard that coincides with where the bolt came from and put the bolt in it. That way when you go to put the bolts back, there's no confusion of what went where and if you need to move things you only have to worry about the cardboard and not the individual bolts.

It's a 5 hour job for a novice who knows how to use a wratchet set.
Mine turned into a 12 hour job, but that's another storey [:@]
Yea, the alternator bracket thing was a pain in the butthole for me, but once you get it all squared away it's a really simple swap.
George, did your new bracket have a big piece on the back of it that sits up in front of the plenum area where all the hoses are running? Mine did, and its so big and clumsy that it got in the way of some vacuum hoses. They all fit and what not, but they're cramped as hell.
