broken oil filler neck!!
I had installed a jlt intake on my car. The intake sits very close to my oil filler. I just noticed it broke the seal loose and oil comes out of the seal from the valve cover to the filler neck. I went to auto zone and bought many differnt kinds of rtv glue and sealant to try to fix it. IT seems to wrok perfect when the cars off. But once i turn the car on the sealant heats up and becomes loose again. And this rtv sealant is the HI temp one. What should i do!!! What does ford use ???

I would degrease it, clean it up as well as you can, and then use some of the insta weld putty. I have used that stuff to seal up punctured oil pans in the past. Don't know how long it would last though. The longest I went was 2mo. before I replaced the pan.

I dont know the exact temp point it maxes out, but it will be somewhere in between the temp of a hot oil pan, and an exhaust pipe. On the oil pan it held up well, when I took off the pan it was still completely intact. On the exhaust pipe (sealed a hole) it only lasted 2 weeks before it completely fell off.

I used jb weld to seal a crack in my egr valve on my old 88 Turbo Coupe and lasted for 5 months till i finally replaced it. So if it can withstand the temps of exhuast. I think it can withstand the temps at your valve cover.

Mine came off because of the 4" JLT tube. I had tried a few products but the glue eventually cracked. I finally tried some welding putty and it's rock solid, if I painted it u couldn't tell it was broke.
Just make sure u scrape, clean off any old residue(plug the hole but don't forget to removerag when finished).
