Default used supercharger setup

Howdy y'all, I'm going to follow the advice of the $1500 supercharger kit post, but I'm not quite sure what other supporting mods I will need to get. I know I'll need to get a fuel pump, injectors, and a programmer. Will I still need to get a FMU, and are there any other components that I will need to add to the list. BTW, the car is a 98 GT thats bone stock except for the 4.30 gears and muffler delete.

Just make sure you acutally call somewhere and price everything in that thread... its been gone over before but it costs ALOT more than 1500 by the time everything is said and done.

Other than what comes in a vortech "tuner" kit (which is to say, the blower/pipping/bypass/etc) you still need a MAF or maf exender (Lmaf ftw) injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, sparkplugs, and programmer with a supercharger tune (just a programmer won't do, must be custom tuned somehow) plus dyno time.

Would the Sniper SF be adequate as far as tuning is concerned

unless you have tuning experence of your own you really need to find a local shop with a dyno that can tune the car, or buy a kit like the mongoose from MPH. The place you buy the kit from and/or tune the car at will decide what tuner you purchase, as they are going to need to be able to tune that type of tuner.

I would definatly not recommend trying to tune the car yourself, espcially if this is yoru first time doing so, on a FI car with a stock shortblock. Our stock shortblocks do NOT like detonation/lean conditions etc when FI is concerned.

I have always been pretty wary of the "1500 dollar supercharged thread" considering it recomends a used head unit etc. IMO, your much better off spending the extra few hundred (or even a thousand) and getting a complete prefab kit + tune etc like the mongoose.

Ya mongose kit is a solid kit looked at it many of times. It even comes with a tune for your car claims it dosnt need a dyno tune. I dont have one but if I was going to go s/c this would be the kit I would get. Also from what Iv heard there tunes are pretty dead on.

The only thing is that I only have $3000 to spend, and as a 19 year old college student, saving money is quite difficult for me. So, what other modifications would y'all suggest instead of the supercharger.
