A kid I knew got a 97 cobra a few months back. He gave me a ride and it really differed than my 5.0. It sounded great(exotic almost) and accelerated smoothly and strongly. I would get the cobra. It was truly a great car. Too bad the kid was irresponsible. He crashed it into a semi a couple of week ago. However, I've never been in a newer transam though(92 was the last one I rode in.)

The only way to really get any reliable opinions on this from anyone on the net is to pot pics and as much info s you can dig up on both vehicles.

If things visually look up to par then my next area of concern would be if theyve been wrecked ever.

Post all the info and pics you can get and then we can go from there.

My choice would be hands down the 4v COBRA the LT1 is not all that stout in stock form.

I am suprised no one has menitioned the amazing power potential of the LT1 with heads and a cam.

But to counter that the chevy only has a 7.5" rear end.

Alot of poeple in here saying LT1's are junk are just retarded. They think the only motor to go with is the LS1 if you are going GM. LT1's are very good performing motors when done right, and they cost a lot less to modify than a 4v cobra would. Yes the LS1 greatly overshadowed the LT1, but it doesn't mean they are junk. Either car is pretty good, the Trans Am is top of of the Firebird models, the Cobra is top end of the Mustang models. I deffinetly prefer the cobra looks over the T/A, if it was a 98-02 though I'd deffinetly take it because they look great.

Cobra hands down. Performance aside, I think Ford's are better built, not quite as good as some other brands out there, but better than GM. I know I've read that certain years of the Cobra the engines were hand assembled. And many will tell you; engine wise, there is no real diff. between a firebird or a trans am, or a z28 and a ss.

They both make about the same power and have great engines. Assuming they were the same price I would take the WS6 because I much prefer the F-body design to the SN95 and it has slightly less miles and most importantly, fewer mods. Not that there's anything wrong with buying a car with mods, I would just rather have something as close to stock as possible.
+1, all those mods and it's got 100,000 miles. I'd give it 50,000 before you're doing major work on it. I wouldn't buy a high dollar vehicle with that kind of mileage anyway. I'd much rather have something around 50,000 or so, which I'm sure you could find if you looked.

I'd also pick the WS6, I'm damn good at driving and of all the cars that I've beaten and all the sad faces I've put on my victems faces, nothing can compare to the look of disbelief on MY face when I see a camaro or trans am pull on me like I've got the AC on.

How old are you? And I think you should buy whichever one is cheaper so that you have money left over for a new keyboard with a functioning caps lock key...
