best way to check it to see if its leaking isdisconnectit from the nozzle where the jet goes and have a friend turn the key on, if fuel flows out the hose you know the solenoid is leaking as it should hold the pressure back when not open.

could be the fuel pump that would be an easy place to start iv heard of them going at about 40k miles so its not out of the question.
