Default 2000 Mustang struts

I thinking about changing out my front struts on my 2000 mustang.

I see that the strut and spring and not combined on the 2000, so the install looks pretty straight forward.

1 top nut and the 2 nuts/bolts on the back of the sprindle

Is there anything else I need to know? Does the caliper need to be removed? The new stuts do not have dust shields should I use the stock ones or do I even need them at all?

Thanks for the help.

i would recommend some air tools.

those bolts are nasty and i would never attempt them by hand.

i did it by hand too, not to bad if you apply lubricant to all the bolts for a few days before you do the job, makes it a lot easier. air tools are nice but not required.

The top nut is pretty hard without air tools. I ended up just replacing my CC plates at the same time so I didn't have to bother with it.

isn't it pretty hard to install c/c plates by hand? somethin about trying to get them off in the first place?

Make sure you put a load on the spring with a floor jack under the A-arm or death/serious injury could occur.
