Default The Aftermarket Trunk Mat

I am about to buy a Mustang logo aftermarket Trunk mat for 99-04 Coupes. Are you supposed to replace the old trunk mat or are you supposed to place it directly over the stock one that's in there?

That's the link to the trunk mat.

id say that it replaces the carpet because the new mat wouldnt grip on the old carpet and it would still slide around.

Very true. I know, it seems like a waste of money but I have a small rip in my stock mat and i'm picky.. haha. Might as well upgrade! (it does look nice too..)

I have the aftermarket trunk mat with the pony logo it is supposed to lay on top of the existing carpet so it sticks to it and stays in one place. You cant even see the old carpet when its in. If you take the old carpet out you would have to cut it out and I think the aftermarket mat would slide around.

Oh and the new aftermarket mat does look very good. Like the dark black on it looks clean and crisp.

Why would you have to cut out the original trunk mat? You just flip down your rear seats and un hook them.
