Default Antifreeze in spark plug well?

Changed the plugs on a 2002 GT 4.6L 2V. Found a small amount of antifreeze in the spark plug well closest to the firewall on the drivers side. (was causing a slight stutter - that's what led me to change the plugs). No noticable leak source from the top side (no trace marks of the intake leaking, etc). Didn't splach out when I blew out the welll prior to removing the plug. Estimate about 1/4" in the bottom (unfortuantely I didn't look in there before removing the plug). Anyone have any experience similar to this?

Just for piece of mind, I would do a head gasket test on it. Autozone will lend you the tool for free if you put down a deposit. You will have to buy the solution that goes in it and if I remember correctly, it's about $7. The tool is called a block tester. I would start there and eliminate that first.

Thanks. Looks like the first step is to replace the manifold. Figure I'll monitor the build-up in the spark plug hole to see if it continues. At 84K, it might be time to perform routine replacements. There weren't any issues with overheating, etc that would have resulted in a head warping, or cracking, etc. So I have to think it's something simple...like a composite intake leak. Time will tell. I'll post the progress. Funny thing though - car worked perfectly while I was running it fairly hard, only issues have risen since I've tried to back off a bit to increase fuel mileage. Guess I need to get a bit more agressive in style.

YEP, same thing happend to me and it was the intake manifold. damn things are so fragile, but id rather have them than a metal one.

yea, happend to me also. coolant in the same sparkplug hole as yours. car was missing and it took forever to figure it out but it ended up being a cracked intake. couldnt see it till i got it off. the intake wasnt hard to change just took a couple hours.
