Default Lifter Tick maybe?

What actually causes lifter tick on our engines, I know they don't actually have lifters. Can it be fixed, and is it in anyway harmful?

Low oil pressure, to heavy of oil and a stuck lash adjuster. Not harmful unless you rev over 6500.

Thats a bit of a relief.

I've heard that some of the romeo heads have problems with ticking but that is caused by the valve guides. And I trust my Patriot heads are not the cause. Which means the only part from my old engine is the lash adjusters and the roller rocker things.

Depending on how old the heads are or where you bought them from Patriot did have a pretty bad problem with their valve guides.

Just had this problem, Patriot STG 2's , broken valve guide. Pulled off the intake and looked into the port to find it #8. Hope thats not your problem, PITA, had to replace the piston and valve.

Well that'll be just be fan-F*CKING-tasitc. What should I expect to see if the valve guide is broken.

Yeah there was no question something was seriously screwed up. If your noise isn't getting worse, mine did, then I would guess maybe not a valve guide.
