Default track tire pressure

hey everyone, tonight will be my first time racing at the track, i have some regular ol' street tires 245/40/17...i was just wondering what a good tire pressure would give me the best traction for launching...or is it even worth my time to change the tire pressure on street tires?

32psi....

Lowering psi on street tires is pretty much pointless. When street tires get too low they lose their optimum contact patch, and the center of the tread will barely touch the ground, putting the load on the outside... and vice versa with over inflated tires... Leave em at ~32 psi all the way around and you should be set.

Put the rear at 32psi like posted above but out the fronts at around 36psi.

LOL I came in here expecting to see some retarded replys. Oh well I guess I dont get to flame anyone today.

Also don't heat up street tires and stay clear of the water.

Most people don't know that. They let them down like slicks and don't know why they spin worse.

PS - Please stay out of the groove so that you don't tear it up for the guys behind you who might actually be on sticky tires.
