is this a good price for stange 2 head/cam install?
Im finally getting all my cards togeather to install stange 2 heads/cams in my GT. The shop that im going to get my work done at has done all the work so far on my GT and do a very good job.
They are wanting to give me an out-the-door price of $3500 for:
Stage 2 patriot heads
any stage 2 cam I want
valve springs
labor
misc. parts
is this a good deal? I do trust this shop with there work and my car.

not to get too off topic here, but why not buy a used blower from someone here on the forum and put it on yourself for that price?
I'm not too sure the direction you are going with your stang, but i just thought I'd ask

lets see aproximate prices. heads $1300 , cams $550, valve springs and retainers $300. Thats leaves roughly $1350 for labor and other things. I wonder what there labor rate is. The price doesn't sound to bad.

Have you done much work yourself?
If you had the heads ordered and the cams/springs/adjusters all installed, the head install you could probably do yourself.
Just another thought..

in that case, you COULD do the work yourself.
if yo'uve got patience, and a set of tools + a special tool or two, its nothing you couldnt do in a course of a weekend and a half or something.

Timing is not that hard. Just have to make about 4 marks and be patient/careful when you're doing it. You SHOULD know if its not right because thinsg wont line up.
Other than that, it's just time consuming getting the top of the motor apart, and then back together.
The heads themselves were the least of my worries when I replaced my pass. side head.

i would defitenly look at a blower kit from someone, bought my kb kit from someone on here for 2,000 after i had to order some parts and im selling my vortech kit to somone on here for 2,000 so there are deals to be made and it would get you alot more power and still have money for a good tune and prolly some left over. just a thought unless you wanna stay n/a
