I think it can be done for less, this is just my opinion. I've seen complete 4v engines with spun bearings going for under $500. I think if you're patient and shop around, you can do this swap for under $1000 if you do the swap yourself. A head install isn't as bad as most people say. Just take your time and follow the instructions in whatever manual you use or get someone that knows what they're doing to help you.

its just the 4v heads in general, more parts moving more potential for problems

There is still no problem with 03-04 4v heads. Those guys must have done a bad install. I put 03 4v heads on my friends stock 97 gt shortblock with no problems at all.

ok, my retarded self is learning.. are the 05-08 heads compatible with our short blocks?? i know they are 3v but just for my fyi
