Default Port and Polish worth it?

I'm thinking about Port and Polishing my heads because of the poor air flow. I just wondered (and have done a search) if this is a worthwhile mod? I know it would be more effective to replace the stock heads with maybe Patriots, but I wondered how effective the P&P was. Thanks for the help.

There aren't any true aftermarket heads for the 2v 4.6 that comes in these cars. Companies such as Patriot Performance, Fox Lake, DSS, or whatever just use stock castings that have been ported and depending on the stage come fitted with bigger valves.

Its definitely a worthwhile mod for these engines since the heads and cams are the major flow restriction. That being said, a set of ported heads isn't gonna net you much power at all over stock without a good set of cams to go with them.

yeah its a worth while mod in the long run but if your not planning on building the engine up then some built ons are always a good way to start depending on your goals. glad to see you traded the cobalt in for a real car

LOL What? You do know that every CNC made head out there started with a hand ported head to set the program.

9 times out of 10 hand ported heads will out flow cnc heads.
