New Engine is in!
OK, so the aluminum block with forged internals, stage one com cams, 10:1 compression, ported pi heads with 3 angle valve job, and longtubes are is in. I right now I'm running open headers with no rear o2 sensors connected. I will have a sound clip of the car very shortly ( in an hour or two) My problem right now is that It starts and runs for about 5 mins then the idle starts to jump up and down and finally just kills itself. I took it out for the first test drive and after a short period of driving it dies when coming to stops. It was sort of doing this before when I first put the cam in on the original engine, but wasn't nearly as bad and went away shortly after driving it a few times. I'm wondering if I need a tune or the computer just needs to re-learn everything?

i think you have to break in the cams by runnin the motor at like 2k rpm for like 10-20 min? i thinks thats how you break them in, someone on here was talking about it before.

So will that make the computer learn the new cam and it should then idle ok? or.....?

im not so sure or not? i think that your computer will need a tune after you get cams anyways. it could be running lean from having the new cams and it flowing more air but not putting in more fuel.

So you finally got those LT's in... how much fun was it. Did you end up gatting them in with the motor out or what. I'm stilllll waiting for my frickin heads so I can have the fun you had with those LT's!!! [sm=headbang.gif]

Ya, put them in with the motor. It was still a pain!!! I had pry bars trying to flex the headers to fit in there. I think mine was soo bad because i bought cheap headers, but o well. How do ya think it sounds?
