Default Custom short shifter?

Hey guys, just curios if it would be worth it to make a custom short shifter. I'm talking about the arm piece that the **** threads onto. I got a friend that said he could make me up a shorter one. Would it have the same effect and feel as a real short shifter?

Leave that to hondas and DSM's. If you're looking for a short shifter without the benefit of the aftermarket mechanisms then just buy one on ebay for 30 bucks.

there is more that goes into a short throw shifter than a short handle.

Thats what I figured. Just thought it might be a free improvement over stock.

If you're poor or cheap, you can get just the handle although I wouldn't advise it.

A shorter handle will of course shorten the throw (that's just basic mechanical principle at work), however "real" short throw shifters accomplish more by a combination of raising the fulcrum and offering the option of shortening the shift lever as well...
