CAI has extra hole
Hey, i just installed my "ebay" cold air intake and i notice that there are the 2 holes on the right side which are fine, then there is an extra hole on the left side of the thing. I just assumed it wasn't used because there was nothing there on the stock unit so i put a piece of electrical take over it. Is this okay to do or am i doing something wrong, is this hole used for something? Thanks

RE: CAI has extra hole
im not sure on your application but a v6 driver i work with had the same issue. dont know about v8s though but we found out it was an universal kit (from ebay) and it was supposed to be plugged up we used a 3/8 bolt............. if you dont plug it or find out what it is for then your engine will pull air from the whole unfiltered and your mass air meter can not read it[:-]

thats a NOS port. Got one on my C&L Trueflow Inlet pipe. But you have to drill it on mine. You need to put a bolt in it for sure. Get that tape offa there before it gets sucked in! Quick, get offa the computer and fix it now!

i believe it is for a wet kit yes.... whichever kit mixes before the intake. i don't know much about NOS. But, until you get it, put a bolt/screw in that thing and make sur eit isn't leaking. That's what you get for buying a cheapo "ebay" CAI kit.

Ebay my man. Is nothing like the real stuff. Trust me I had the Eay crap and changed it to the real MAC CAI. Is nto the same. Plus I've posted this story here more than once. A friend of mine had that CAI on his car. A piece broke of and went into the engine. Hpoe i works out for you.

my MAC cold air that i got off ebay had that same hole with a rubber grommet inside it, there is no way that tape is gonna get sucked in there, especially if you put a big enought piece in there
