Considering Exhaust Upgrade
#14
K so can anybody get back to the OP and answer my questions please? Not trying to be pushy or a jerk or anything but I've already decided on flowmasters pretty much. I just need to know of a cheap online sorce for cat back systems.
I'd also like a little more info as to why you would need special adapter for o/r x pipes.
Thanks in advance

Hi all I am considering upgrading my stock exhaust. I have a totally bone stock 1998 GT Convertible. New to the whole mustang thing so I figured I would ask the experts
I like the way flowmaster 2 chambers sound. Anybody have a cheap source for cat back flowmasters systems?
Also I am considering an o/r x pipe. I found a mac and a pypes on ebay pretty cheap ($160ish including shipping). What is the performance and sound difference between an x-pipe and a h-pipe? Is there really that much of a difference in brands or do they all pretty much sound the same regardless of brand?
Also I see that both of those x-pipes have fittings for o2 sensors. I have read that you need a MIL??? I don't understand why you would need a special o2 eliminator kit if the fittings are there?
Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated

Personally, I prefer a nice deep sounding exhaust with no drone so I went w/ STEEDA catback with stock h-pipe and love it. Nice my car is no longer a daily driver I will be changing mid pipe to a catted H-Pipe either a MRT or JBA which really drives the sound and more hp. I don't recommend O/R pipe but they are much cheaper since they do not have cats but you won't pass emissions depending on your state you live in.

I don't get why you would want to deal with that, even though it may be an easy swap and stuff. Your just gaining 1-2 HP and you need to make sure you have your stock one for emissions and just all that trouble. Also why do you wanna do your part at polluting the enviroment
