Default 96 gt,what to do?

i just got the car not too long ago and it runs great and strong, only mods are short throw shifter,k&n filter and 2.5 inch catback. the car has 107,500 miles on it.
i was thinking about buying a cold air intake and do a oil change on it with royal purple oil.
when should i replace my coils, wires and plugs? i was thinking about going all msd when the time comes.

For power, I'd suggest the PI swap (throw in better cams if you can afford it).

I'd also add a set of gears as well (3.73's or 4.10's).

i think it may have gears installed already but im not sure. 0-60 is pretty quick by the time i shift to 3rd im doing 60 and 3rd tops out at 85
4th gear tops out at about 110.

im slowly modding it,i figured a cold air intake and oil change will help it run a little better, and if its going to need coils, wires and plugs soon ill buy new msd coils and wires. after that then ill worry about the big stuff.

I actually recommend staying with factory Ford coils, rather than the MSD's. As for plug wires, I do like the MSD's and the FRPP's.

BTW, what's your RPM at 60mph? I can tell you what gears you have based on that.

ill get back to you on the 60mph rpm

I installed a High Flow Catted X Pipe on my 96 GT to my Magnaflow Catback, sounds amazing and definitely freed a couple horses.

Do the PI Swap, though. Best bang for your buck performance wise. Aftermarket parts for our gen are a pain in the *** to find, compared to 5.0's and 99-04.
You'll need a tune, as well with the PI swap.

The MSD's generally fail alot more often than the stock coils. The stock Ford coils can also support a ton of HP, so there is really no need to change.
