Default 99-00 aftermarket cams in a 01?

There is a local guy selling some aftermarket cams out of his 00 GT.

I know there are some differences in the Windsor and Romeo motors, but will cams from a Windsor fit into a Romeo ok?

they will work but you will need a set of cam gears if he doesn't give them to you

No he doesn't, his 2001 has bolt on cam gears from the factory.

You don't need to buy cam gears. You have bolt on cam gears from the factory, the guy with the 2000 was the one that needed to buy them when he bought the aftermarket cams, as Windsor engines came with pressed on gears.

Just reuse your cam gears with the aftermarket cams.

I'd suggest going with adjustables anyway, but if you just want to get the cams in, you can use your stock gears.

Adjustables are not needed at all. You can degree cams using the stock Ford cam gears (grind the keyway), and it's a much safer prospect than most of the POS aftermarket gears available.

Almost all of the 2001's are Romeo engines. I have run across a "few" select that were Windsors.

Similar to how MOST 2001 Cobra's were WAP engines, however a few did receive the 99 Teskid casting.
