my low reverse clutch just gave out am i better off fixing it or swaping in a C4

I would say just fix the 4r70w and beef it up. The C4 is a 3 speed automatic if I am not mistaken so you would lose overdrive. I am not sure what you are using your car for but if it's more street than strip I would want the extra gear for crusing especially if you're running a shorter gear but if you're just racing the thing then it ain't going to matter if you don't have overdrive cause you can't use that gear anyway for hard core drag racing. I do think I have read that the C4 is an excellent performer when it comes to an all out drag racing transmission though.

Is this a race car? If it isnt, you have no reason to switch. I would just fix your 4r70w.

it's not a race car I just have access to a lot of different transmissions
