Why does my BRAKE light on the dash cluster come on after WOT?
It happens almost each time I go heavily into the gas. The red BRAKE light on the bottom right of my gauge cluser comes on, but I can't feel the car slowing down like as if its triggering the brakes or something. Traction control is turned off when this happens. I haven't tried it with TC left on to see if it makes a difference, but wtf...
My front brakes (pads) do need to be replaced, but could that be causing this? There is a noise from the passenger side of the car that sounds like its related to wheel speed....which may mean I need new pads ASAP.

if your pads are real wore down check to see if your fluid is low and causing the light to come on. or maybe your car is just telling you to SLOW DOWN! lol its some type of safety device telling you there is a car ahead or a little poodle ready to leap out in front of you

The fluid in the master cylinder could use some more, but I believe it is above the MIN line.
Well, boner. Time to look into some how to's on replacing the fronts....or quote some shops around here.

I had the same problem with my gt. I took it to a local shop and they found a problem in the master cylinder...can't remember what though. I ended up having to replace the master break cylinder, luckily though they screwed up, ordered the wrong part 3 times and I ended up having the work done for free.

OK, thanks everyone.
Because IIRC (yes I'm very lazy right now to go check) the fluid level is easily below the MAX line...looks like I'm going to go buy some DOT 3 brake fluid and some pads at the local parts store.

I would put the pads on first before you put the brake fluid in b/c when you compress the caliper piston it pushes the fluid back into the master cylinder if you put fluid in first it will push nthe fluid out of the cap and on the car and brake fluid messes up paint. seen it first hand luckily i was doing the work and it wasnt my car.
