Default I have routine maintence questions, please help!!

Okay, I just moved my car like 20 feet from being out in the road, into the driveway (brother was playing basketball) and I noticed when I turned on the car "Coolant level" light came on for the 2nd time this year. I Don't know why this light is coming up!! It is chilly outside.. (53 degrees at the moment) but it's strange. The first time it came up.. I went to an auto place and had some guy look at it and he said not to worry about it.

Okay, So I read the manual and it says that there should be a "Cold Fill" level and all that but all I see on the reservoir is "ADD COOLANT" WTF? Does anyone else's say this?? It's deff not supposed to say that, it's supposed to say "hot fill" and "cold fill" or something, right?

Also, my oil level is slightly above MAX on the dipstick, is this okay? I put in 5 quarts like the book said last oil change..

Oh and also, does the "Lucas" power steering stop leak stuff work? Because I saw a bottle of it and it says on the bottle that if it doesn't work, you can take it back.

if it was on ahill of some sort you could have just shook the coolant causing it to fall below the senseor line, mine does it occasionally as long as your car isn't overheating you have nothing to worry about, and as for the oil if its just barely above max i wouldn't worry about that either, the power steering stop stuff imo i've never used it.

Hmm, well.. it wasn't on a hill or anything but eh.. Anyway though why does my reservoir say "Add coolant"?? I don't get that lol.. the book says one thing.. but my car has another thing.

yeah don't worry about it. keep an eye on your gauges. and the 5 quts is fine. its just the computer talking smack! as far as the lucas power steering fluid. yeah it might work for a little bit. but after that your going have to replace. you can only prolong gaskets for so long. ya know?

That coolant light seems to be pretty sensitive. I flushed out my cooling system a few weeks ago and even with the reservoir somewhat full it came on. Once I topped it off, it went off. There's a line on the tank..just fill it up to there with coolant when the engine is cold. that's all you need to know.

Where is your power steering fluid leaking from???

Mine only says add coolant also. There is a line on the tank that is with the add coolant words. You want the coolant to be a little above that line.
