Default hesitation when accelerating

hey everyone, i need some help. when i am accelerating and i hit about 3500-4000 rpms my engine drops about 100-300 rpm's then starts climbing again and pulls strong all the way to redline. any ideas on what's causing this and how to fix it? thanks!
