I'd keep it just in case you need to put it back on for inspections. Plus, it makes it easier to sell when that time comes. You could sell your old cats and use that money to upgrade to a high flow catted mid pipe.

yea the reason i ask is bc i have the cats on now but i m wanting to put in x pipes with out the cats for more hp. and they want 200.00, to do the job when i can just use those cats put it toward the job.... be cheaper that way bc i just got headers and that was pretty pricey.

You're going to have to find a local scrap yard.

there your cats. he cant just say he is keeping them and he cant charge you more if you keep them. if he says he will do it for 200 then hold him to that and if you want the cats then he has to give them up.

Yeah ive had exhaust work done quite a few times and everytime ive told them that I wanted to keep my old stuff encase i ever wanted to put em back on. Not once have i ever herd of one of them saying i couldnt. Like sean said its your cats and if you want to keep them its your choice. It would be like him stealing them if he kept em. Let me know how much you get for em cuz I got tons of old stuff like that ive been waiting to turn in for money.

I know a guy who has a shop around here and he gets 2-3 people a week come buy wanting to buy cats off him. I think he said the average he sells them for is $50 a piece, But one guy said he would give $100 a piece for certain import cats.
