If thats your mustang in your sig, you should have an aluminum crossover so yours wont crack.

But to answer your question, my buddies 99 GT had a plastic intake crack, and was replaced with the HPS hardball'r intake.

My 02 GT is safe with the new IM.

It is a very common problem with the plastic manifolds on the gt's. Overtime the front part of the manifold that coolant flows through will crack due to cooling and heating from that area. Ford fixed this problem by replacing the coolant pathway with from plastic to metal. You can wait until it cracks, or you can go ahead and buy the new revised manifold and replaced, its fairly easy to do.

Yeah, cause it said something on the article about 99-01. Mine is 2001 GT. I knocked on my manifold and it sounds like plastic.

I cracked my 96 manifold, bought a new one, then a month later bought a PI motor that had a plastic cross over again. It still hasn't broke. There's 38k miles on that intake and engine.

I changed mine before it could crack. Preventive maintenance is key.

Your right. The cross over is aluminum.

My 2000 cracked one day in the rain at WOT. 110k miles on it when it happened. Not a big deal to replace.
