Default Low Oil Light

I finally got my 96 GT running. It is a 2v. The low oil dash light wont go away. I just put in 5 quarts of new oil. The oil guage is normal, if not more than normal.

Anybody know where the oil sensor is?

Should I put in one more quart? (I have no dipstick, the hole is plugged)

the sensor should be on the driver side of the oil pan make sure you pluged it in.

I've had this problem on my 96 as well.. I'll find on an incline, after sitting the light will come on. I once had the light come on literally right after putting 5.7 Litres of fresh oil in, however I was trying a diffferent weight and I don't think she liked it

I'm curious about my sensor as well, let me know if you figure anything out.

5W30 fella's....thats what you should be running..

As far as the oil light, the sender is most likely the cause... Your oil pressure guage is still good right? You still have oil pressure? Sometimes the low oil/oil pressure light is the same on the dash.... Anyway if you have a low oil light, the sensor is in the side of the oil pan, I think drivers side towards the rear... The oil pressure sender is on the oil filter adapter right behind the filter itself.

Check the oil pan to make sure it's making a good connection.
