autozone carries royal purple which is suppose to be good. i used it because they (royal purple) claims that you dont have to buy a separate friction modifier to make you diff work properly.

I just went with the Motorcraft fluid and friction modifier from the Ford house for the rear. Used Mobil1 ATF in the trans.

so i went to autozone and they did not have royal purple. so i went down the road to advanced and the best they had was redline 75w90 so i got two bottles of that. Can anyone tell me if i need to use friction modifier with that? im going with syncromesh for the front.

bottles? 8.8s take like 2 2/3s of a quart...

75w90 works, But I always use Motorcraft 75-140 with a bottle of modifier in all my rear builds...

No you do not need friction modifier. I used it in my 86 vett. It should say on the bottle

You are going to need 3 quarts... But you will only use 2 2/3s... I dont know how big the bottles you have are but thats how much you will need. Fill it until it pours out of the fill hole.
