How are you planning on changing the valve seals with the cylinder head still on the car?

It can be done, but you'll an air compressor and a spark plug hole fitting to hold the valves closed so you can remove the retainers and springs. Then even at that you might be able to remove the old seal with the valve in place?

My dad got a Chilton manual and theres a special tool you can get to compress the spring so you can get the rocker off and then you can get the seal out.

Then you are all set, but make sure you turn the engine to TDC on the cylinder you are working on, so that if you do lose the air pressure you don't lose the valve down into the cylinder...

i got it done. Theres a special tool for ohc's You dont have to take the cam off it uses the cam as like a pivot to compress the spring so you can take the keepers off. It was a piece of cake once we got the tool. And to keep the vavles up i found another trick. You put the cylinder down a little and putt nylon or any kind of like soft rope and pile it in there and than put the piston TDC and it holds the vavles up. It worked like a charm.
