Any modular aluminum block will handle 1000hp, without any problem. Aluminum blocks were given a bad name years ago, and "experts" such as the ones mentioned in that article continue to believe crap.

you know your looking at all this money for custom blocks to get 5.0, at your stage in the game I think a 5.4 would be cheaper/better for you.... especially if you did a sheetmetal intake... even with 2v heads it makes sick power

I would go with an iron block, especially since your wanting machine work done. The concerns that I know of with aluminum are about it lossing strength with heavy duty heat cycles over time, due to the way they are made. I dont think its anything to worry about, either way, and I dont anyone here will be repairing their blocks as both are abundant and pretty cheap. That said, unless your crazy over weight I dont think the teksid is worth the price difference many charger, but if you can find one for a reasonable price, go for it.

I don't care anymore, lol. I'm not doing the BB. I'm gonna stick around the 500 range so it would be just a waist.

The intelligence level of people on here amazes me. It's a good thing OEM manufacturers don't use aluminum blocks in their new cars, because all the heat cycles will just destroy them.....
