Default Advantages of Big Bore

Are there any considerable HP differences between standard bore engines and Big Bore setups? If yes than how much?

I've already tripled my budget for this build. If any more more money's going into it, I'm burning it to the ground to get the insurance. Fack it, lol.

No you call me and I take care of it for you, while you collect your "stolen" car money.

No, but really I've read somewhere (in an article over at SVTP) that the gains are significantly higher going from to a standard bore 4.6 and enlarging the bore to 5.0 than what it is going from a standard 4.6 and increasing the stroke.

If your goal is ultimately displacement though, like Fobra said, I'd just use a Navigator shortblock and go from there.

The biggest problem is our small bores and thin walls between the bores. You can really only take it out .030". I'm not saying it's not worth it but ti's still ridiculous small.

What if you start with an aftermarket block? I don't know if DART makes them, but I know FRPP has the BOSS 5.0 mod block.

Don't they bore and then sleeve the block so make sure it can handle it?

Dart dry or wet sleeve yes. You can also buy the Mod Boss motor from ford.

Dry sleeve is good for 20~psi and its about $1300 installed.

+1 FRPP makes a 3.70" big bore block with no sleeves. It's not a 3.552" bored .030" over, its cast at .148" over. I copied the chart below from myslow2002GT's post on another thread.
