Default Removing Shocks on 01 gt

hey guys started my shock and strut install, i am in the process of swaping out the shocks and have unbolted them from the rear axle on the bottom end, but the screws in the truck on top of the shocks are giving me a hard time to un bolt any suggestions on how to unbolt the bolts of the shock that are in the trunk, i bought an impact wrench today so maybe that will make it easier hopefully and info would me great!

They are a bitch to break the tight lock. Shocks are just plug and play and are easier than changing your oil. Once you break that seal, your golden.

use a pair of vise grips to clamp on the very top of the shock. making sure not to grab on the threads. then break the nut loose.

x2, when I did the coilover install with the old SRA we used an impact gun and then when we did the IRS swap we ended up using the vise grips. Both ways work, the impact gun is a ton easier.

I just used a strap wrench on the shock piston to prevent it from spinning and an impact wrench on top.
