Default Soft Brakes

So yeah, Ill throw up the "I was being an idiot flag", and admit I was brake stalling my car. So now my brakes are pretty soft. Any ideas on whats wrong before I go tear into it? Im hoping I can just bleed the system and be good, but I guess I could have tore up the M/C. How hard would it be to replace that?

Has the fluid ever been changed?

If not then you might have just boiled the fluid good and any disolved air hasn't been picked up by the fluid yet.

The calipers could've gotten hot enough to expand and let in some air to the system. This could be removed by bleeding.
If the fluid is anything but clear it needs to be changed. The brown color comes from water being drawn into the brake fluid by natural forces. The DOT 3 brake fluid is supposed to do this to keep water from collecting in the low points of the brake lines and calipers and causing corrosion, eventually rusting holes in the lines.

+1 the fluid could need to be changed and bleed. Also I noticed that when I installed Stainless steel brake lines that made the pedal feel a little bit stiffer, just something to consider.

Yeah, Im hoping its just due for a flush now. I dont *think* its the master cylinder because the pedal doesnt go to the floor, and if there was a leak around the master cylinder piston the brake pedal should eventually go to the floor when held.
