cant get lash adjuster back in
i took a lash adjuster out that is toward the back of the cylinder head and cant get it back in. im using the screwdriver technique. what is the easiest way to get these bastards back in. I have done the others and im having alot of trouble and scared im messing stuff up. Is there anywere to get the special tool?
Also, are the lash adjusters supposed to be able to move any? all the ones i have taken out dont depress any, like they are froze up. anyway, help me out, its getting dark and want to get it back in by tonight.

Carefully compress the lash adjuster in a vice. Once you do this, the lash adjuster should compress a little. Oil the outside of it and put it back into the head. Take note of what position the cam lobe - above that lash adjuster - is in. Rotate the crankshaft until that cam lobe is pointing at a 12 o' clock position -away from the head. You should be able to insert the cam follower underneath the cam lobe. Position the tip of the cam follower as close to the top of the lash adjuster as possible. Use your flathead screwdriver to pry the cam follower back onto the lash adjuster.

There is a small bleeder hole on the side of them. During normal operation, the lash adjuster fills up with oil and sometimes air. It becomes too stiff to be compressed by hand. When you compress them in a vice, the oil and air exits through the bleeder hole. This will enable you to compress it enough to get the cam follower back on.
