I've built dozens of old pushrods but never a modern motor, should I risk it myself or leave it to the professionals?

Building, Id go for it. But as for the notching and all machine work, Id let the shop handle that.

Depends on the kit, some require no clearance mods but some must be cut to compensate for the longer stroke, that's why i'd attempt to mock it up before you take it to them. Just do your hw on the kits, my stroker uses a smaller journal size on the crank so that the head of the rod itself is smaller, thus compensating for the length your adding and no clearance issues. But either way it will have to be bored and honed

Oh and sorry, didn't even really answer the question, price usually pertains to who you buy it from and the quality of the kit (but not always)

I'm looking at a couple different stroker kits. One is a Probe kit good to 1000hp that only comes in Standard bore and the other is CMS Manley/HP that comes in Std .20 & .30

FoxLake stage2, VT stage 2.5 or Stage 3 cams, Aero1000 inline, and a few other things... I'm trying to decide if I really need to upgrade to a T-trim or not.

Nice kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MODMA...7311QQtcZphoto
I buy all my internal parts from these guys. Call them instead of using ebay and you will get a better deal.
