Default 06 gt to my 00 gt?

has anyone switched or known someone who switched the new 3 valve sohc 4.6 into a mustang with a 2 valve sohc 4.6 car? i have the entire car from the engine to the tranny rear end wiring harness etc. does anyone know if the mounting is pretty much the same or totally different?

Why? Why do you want to do this?

Because the 3V flows much better than the 2V.

I have seen it done but you have to do a lot of custom work. The throttle on the S197's are fly by wire and the mounts are not the same IIRC.

If you have the parts go ahead, but you could get the 4V heads from a 00-01 cobra or 03-04 cobra, if you can get them and put them on your short block. 4V>3V

I wish I could have a 3v engine possibly even over an N/A 4v. There is so much aftermarket for them and if the Variable valve Timing could work with the new edge that would be sweet.

The biggest problems with the swap would be the Kmember and rear end.

Why? they both use the same block, so I don't see why the K-member would be an issue...
