Default Would anyone buy and install used gears?

I see a lot of used gears for sale but I dont know that I would ever buy them and use. . . would u? I almost think it is worth it just to buy them new, what do you think. Thanks.

yes, but i doubt the million used gears on egay are from people that wanted steeper gears

i have installed used gears in my own vehicles, but i pulled them out of the previous cars, and new they were good. i would be very suspicous of buying used gears on someone elses word that they were good.

+1 id be more worried about the install cost from a good shop

a good shop shouldnt charge more than what the gears cost!!!!!! but good shops are few and far between. the shop thats installing my diff will do the diff install for 25.00 extra than the gear install thats only 150.00 with a warranty.

so i really think the question here is do you want to ruin your car for something you can get new not that much money? dont ever buy used gears never know whats wrong with them.
