we really need a common suspension catagory. but what is the widest tire i can fit on my S281? i have 285 w/ no posi trac and am having a hard time hooking up. plus its some crappy cheap falkin tires too

Well, get a new posi, not new tires!

you can put a 315 on it but it wil lbulge in the middle and you would be worse off with a bulge than the 285's

yeah on the first i get saleen posi-trac. yeah i know there is better out there but for some reason i want saleen. unless there is one considerably cheaper.

what about 305? still bulge

You can look up what most tires will fit on which size rims on the tire manufacturers web site.

If your going with 315 or 305's I would probably looking at a 10.5" rim. If you try and SQUEEZE it into a smaller rim, your just asking for problems. Your putting all kinds of excessive pressure on the bead area, and changing the flexpoint of the tire.

Bad handling and irregular tire wear are just a couple problems that could happen, not to mention there are a few serious issues that COULD occur. Bottom line...do it right or don't do it at all.

I was told a 275 is the recommedned largest tire on a 9" wheel. so if you are wanting315 go with a 10.5
