Default Mustang Tranny

I have a 00Gt Automatic, i was thinkin of swappin to stick. at this momment i only have the tranny i need pedal assembly etc . Now The guy will charge me around 1,200 to beef up my automatic tranny. Includes torque converter shift kit and other parts..the tranny swap he was gonna charge me a lil bit more what should i do??? what will be better overall?

well you already have the manual, but a good auto can really be good. I prefer manuals, although for a shift kit and new t/c $1200 is a bit of money i would do that myself.
Statistically the manual is a hair quicker is the 1/4 than the stock auto. Its all your opinion

I have seen this kind of thread pop up quite often...and the same answer I give is spend the money to beef up the auto. A properly geared and stalled auto along with a j-mod or shift kit and good tune...makes an auto worth keeping! Nothing wrong with manuals just that most people are really hesitant on doing anything to their helpless auto...and once it's built up properly...you'll never want to go back to a manual unless you are just one of those guys who has to have a manual.

Manuals are more fun, but a well built auto is definitely faster. It really depends on your goals. If you plan on going to the track, stay auto.
