Default E/T street radials with stock rear end

I'm looking for some more traction for the next time I go to the track. I've thought about buying some prostars with some Mickey Thompson's for the back. My car is pretty stock, do you think the M/T street RADIALS would break anything like the stock axles? The track is an hour away so I dont want a tow bill!

no they won't break, many people on here run stock drivetrain components with street radials with no problems. Nitto 555s are good also

Nah the Nitto's are not in the same league as the M/T's IMO. M/T's, while they dont last as long, are way stickier. And these are on 15" wheels so no Nittos.

Dont worry about braking it. Friend of mine ran his for 4 years with ET streets and launched it at the track every week ariund 4500 and it held. Now after 4 years its craping out on him and he's full bolt on cammd out too.

By crapping out you just mean its starting to slip some? Or did something actually break? I just dont want a huge tow bill! Yeah I will have to figure out what rpm launches the best, but I figure around 4000.

But I will be rebuilding the rear in the next year or so anyway.

Sounds good. I'm going to the track in about a month and looking for low 13's. What kind of sixty foot do you think I could get? My suspension is stock for now, so I'm guessing a 1.8? I doubt I could hit 1.7's yet, I was hitting 2.0's on street tires.

"what about with a kb 2.1?"

the tires should still spin before anything breaks, but after hooking hard a few times it may get the best of the stock axles and rear end.
