I'm not counting out the fact that I may be retard but I'm still not getting this....He wants you to mount the bpv to the s/c inlet and have it vent into the discharge tube?

The way you have it configured in the drawing is the standard way the vortech is set up. The BPV is mounted to the discharge tube (the tube that goes to the t/b) and it vents into the s/c inlet before the s/c but after the maf.

It has been mounted that way since I installed the Vortech. I don't know how to explain it better except that the "BPV" is under the t/b inlet tube instead of it being under the Vortech inlet tube.

So is yours like mine or different?

Oh, and imagine there is a hose from the BPV to the s/c inlet.

Just like yours.... The Vortech Installation manual says the BPV needs to be UNDER the intake pipe.

That's the first time I've seen your engine... THATS SICK! I wish I had a 5.4 now!

What does it take besides a tune, Blow Thru MAF, and BOV to convert it to vent to the atmosphere? Also how much does this conversion normally cost?

Oh I see what you're getting at. I have no idea, lol. I don't see what that would change but I'm going to assume the Vortech engineers are a lot smarter then I am.

Thanks, I still need to get some shots with the engine complete.

Are you having problems, or did your tuner just suggest that as a "matter of fact" type of thing?

No, no problems at all. I was just curious and didn't really think about it till now.

As for the BOV, since I'm uping my boost to about 15lbs I'd see what it costs to switch to a BOV setup. I've heard it tunes easier and it's pretty loud, which I would like, lol.

Most people that I know that did a bov instead of the bypass, went back to bypass as tuning was biotch... could just be stupid tuners though

Well I asked my tuner if I should switch because I really don't like the filter being so low in the fender and he said it was much more of a pain to tune the blow-through.

Hmmm, I wonder if that's really the case because all the prochargers are BOV blow thru setups.
