RE: 5.4 Liter Swap????
85k, not worth it! It would need a rebuild for it to be worth the effort!
Here is a simple break down I put together...
-Built 2v 4.6-
Rotating Assembly: 5L Stroker 1700
Heads: 1200
Cams: 550
Long tubes and Mid pipe: Est: 600-700
Intake: Bullitt 1100, P-51 1200
Rough Est: 5300
-Cobra Head swap-
Heads: 2003 - 2 grand, 99-01 - $1000
Timing cover and Misc. assembly pieces - 300 to 400
Head Covers - 250
Intake - 375
Computer - ???
Rough Est: $2000 - 3325
-5.4 swap-
Nav 5.4 - 3200
Intake - 350
Transmission / clutch - ???
Computer - ???
Rough Est: Already close to 4 grand
This is purely an informational post. All prices assume you buy brand new.

Code3 have you ever looked into getting a timing chain and heads off a cobra and converting to a 4V? I would love to do that... would that be cheeper/better then a 5.4l swap? I have no idea just spitballing here... Thoughts? Would I need anything other then the timing chain and heads? Someone help... and if you have prices post please!!!

When I looked into doing it. I looked at a 5.4 with Navigator heads. The cost for the conversion as well as the frustration for the small gains was not worth it, in my opinion. My ideal goal was that same 5.4 with 4V heads and a single turbo, but again the cost would be sky high, but it would make some sick HP.
The block for the 4.6 and 5.4 are identical with exception of deck height. Do a google search, you should be able to find some info.
Now, with that being said...please don't take offense, of what I am now going to say....But, it's like the old saying, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it". The cost for that type of conversion, which would include built motor, exhaust, clutch, rear end, flywheel, etc. would be well over $15,000.00. As I found out with this upgrade I did, the $$ starts adding up quickly and there are som many other things that pop up that you never think about.
