Default Eibach Sportline Question

So i'm looking into a set of springs for my Mach, and I can't decide what would be best for my application. The car is my DD, I take it to the track when time/weather permits, and I don't have a ton of speedbumps in the area.

I run 315/35/17 tires at the moment. Will I have to roll my fenders if i get the Sportline kit? Will I need CC plates? I really don't wanna have to spend $600 on getting an inch and a half lower.

I'd consider other springs than the sportlines (such as H&R Sports).

CC plates are not required, but would be helpful. If drilling out the rivets on the stock plates won't allow for enough camber adjustment, yuo can install some camber bolts. Obviously the benefit of CC plates is the caster adjustment as well.

Well if you're not gona drag often Id do H&R springs. Great spring and the car seats low and mean.

Well i'm just getting started with the mods on this thing, so she'll see a ton more track time next year than she did this year.

I'm still worried about tire size and fender rolling though. It's a 17" rim, by the way. Will it be an issue? Or is that something I can't know until I lower the car?

i'm pretty sure you are going to have to roll your fenders/quarter panels. CC plates are required for when you lower more than 1.5-2". i'm sitting low on the front and dont rubb or anything. my kit is the h&r super sport set. here's a pic to see how low my front is

i don't have any problems with the rears, because my tire isn't that bigg. it's 285/40/17 which the irs prevent you from going any bigger, thanks to a simple bolt. but i'll have my 315's sometime next year.

and right now it's currently running on spring swap only, no cc plates, and no shocks. i don't have any problems at all right now, but i'm pretty sure i end up with some in the future.

The only rubbing i get, that i forgot to mention, was on full steering wheel turns. when i turn the steering wheel all the way, tire make contact with fender liner. but how often do you turn your steering wheel all the way.

I was hoping you'd chime in, since your car sits pretty damn low. So would I be more safe with just a Pro-Kit from Eibach?

you'll be more safe with the pro kit, since you don't need cc plates. now, depending on the condition of your shocks you have on now, i would check them to see if they're leaking/wearing, and possibly even replace them. i didn't replace my shocks as 03-04 cobras come stock with bilsteins, but i am going to end up going with stiffer shocks. but need to do some research.

Chris, leave the stock springs if you plan on hitting the track more next year. The stockers are much better for weight transfer then aftermarket "lowering" springs. If you want a little rake get 4 cyl Fox body springs for up front and keep the rear stockers maybe loose the rear iso's for a small drop in back!
