Default Lack of Boost.

My buddy Eric has a V2 with a 15lbs pulley Innercooled. He has had 3 different FMIC's. He is only getting 10lbs at the manifold even with switching the FMIC's 3 times.

Since the odds are against 3 innercoolers being bad, what else could be going wrong? He does have the stock BPV.

What would cause him to loose PSI at the manifold?

thanks,
me

+ 1 on belt slip

..could be the stock bpv leaking - it is garbage

also what intercooler is he running? did he switch the same model 3 times or 3 different units?

Oh that's another thing. When I first brought my car to the dyno I didn't have my BPV tight and I was loosing a lot of boost/vacuum.

So there could be a leak somewhere too.

Would it leak 5lbs? ...I guess that the I/C would eat up about 2psi normally and the BPV would eat the rest? Does that sound about right?

With belt slip, he would have been able to tell that from the numbers on the Dyno and it was pretty steady. He does have a RR grip pulley.

Well as long as the BPV is closing properly it shouldn't consume any boost. But if it isn't closing all of the way (not adjusted properly) it would be letting a consistent amount of boost out all of the time.

I heard there was a way to increase the spring size in a Bocsh style BPV, is that true?

Ive never seen that, but its not recommended for systems over 8psi, my guess that there is a leak somewhere... what is the pulley # anyway?

I don't know. Whatever pulley that's supposed to make 15lbs of boost. I think it's a 2.8 ultra grip.
